Tuckeroo House

Set high on a ridge with a steep, south facing block in Ocean Shores, this two storey residence was designed to maximize the views to Byron Lighthouse. The entry of the house is set on axis to the view and the split view layout means that more of the spectacular outlook is revealed as you move through the house.

While the views are to the South, the design ensures that all the living spaces received enough sunlight and had access to cooling breezes. In cross-section the house opens up to the north, with a sunken courtyard providing a sheltered outdoor area that is usable all year round, overlooked by the beautiful tuckeroo that was preserved on-site.
