About me

I am most interested in simple Architecture, good materials used simply.

Working with clients to produce beautiful and functional buildings with long-term value.

I am a sole practitioner Architect, living in Ballina and working in the Ballina, Byron and Lismore Shires for more than 18 years. Having practiced across Australia and internationally, I am very aware that all design needs to be responsive to the land and climate in which it is located to achieve comfort and ease of use for its inhabitants. Working closely with clients to identify their needs and meet them with high-quality design is always my goal.

Meet Amy

Good space planning

and an efficient use of resources.

Born, raised and educated in Perth, I completed my Bachelor of Environmental Design and Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Western Australia. I spent my early career in London, where I worked at a small firm specialising in historic restoration and was privileged to be involved in projects at Hampton Court Palace and St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Local Knowledge

Having lived in Ballina and practiced architecture in the Northern Rivers for 18 years, I understand the specific climatic conditions that every building built here needs to weather. The path of the sun, the direction of the wind and the power of the rain are all addressed in every design. Plus, the ability to enjoy our beautiful climate from both inside is a priority for most clients

Collaboration

As a sole practitioner, I really value the collaboration I get from working with clients as a team. Many clients are already collecting images and sketching floor plans for a long time before we begin work together and helping to get the best from their ideas is very satisfying. A good working relationship is important, and I am proud to have received some great feedback from past clients.
